I was reading a post at Dominica Weekly called “Desire Longevity! Come to Dominica”
It outlined the fact that because of good living, alot of movement (do you know how many hills there are!) sun, sea and general environment people are living to be over 100 – one women even lived to be 128 but was not recognized because of “red tape”. Exactly how do you produce a birth certificate when at the time the birth of black people wasn’t recorded!
Despite that there are many still others. Louisa Joseph recently passed away at the age of 108 years. She was born in August 8, 1899 and still living is Violet Joseph from Roseau, who is 109 years old.
According to the article there are another 16 other people over 100 living on the small island of Dominica.
Interesting that the names mentioned are women! I wonder what the man/woman ration is out of the 16 remaining over one hundreds!
